The gallbladder is really only there to collect bile. Once removed, the bile will flow directly to your liver & then the small intestine, where it then helps process fats from digested foods. Gallbladder surgery is known in medical terms as cholecystectomy & there are two ways that the general surgeon has to choose from to remove your gallbladder.
